MJ Collective | Returns, Refunds & Cancellations Policy

At MJ Collective, we aim to provide quality products and a positive customer experience across MJ Kitchen, MJ Home and MJ Preloved.

Our returns and cancellation arrangements depend on the type of product purchased. Nothing in this policy excludes or limits rights provided by applicable South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act and Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

1. MJ Kitchen — Food, Platters & Desserts

MJ Kitchen prepares freshly made food, platters and desserts to order, with collection arranged in advance.

Orders and cancellations

Orders must be placed and confirmed in advance.
Customers are requested to provide at least 48 hours’ notice before the agreed collection time when cancelling or changing an order.
Cancellations received at least 48 hours before collection will generally qualify for a full refund of amounts paid.
Cancellations received less than 48 hours before collection will be assessed individually, considering ingredients purchased, preparation already undertaken and any applicable consumer rights.
Any cancellation charge will be reasonable, taking account of the circumstances and applicable South African law.
Correctly supplied perishable food generally cannot be returned simply because a customer changes their mind.
If an order is incorrect, unsafe, defective or not as agreed, customers should contact MJ Kitchen promptly so that an appropriate remedy can be arranged.

Collection

MJ Kitchen currently operates on a collection-only basis. The collection location, date and time will be confirmed when the order is accepted.

2. MJ Home — Furniture & Home Accessories

MJ Home offers furniture and selected home products, including items that may be manufactured to order.

Customers should review product specifications, dimensions, finishes and estimated production times before confirming an order.
Cancellation requests for made-to-order furniture will be considered in light of production progress, reasonable costs already incurred and applicable consumer rights.
Any applicable cancellation charge will be reasonable and explained to the customer.
Returns of non-defective products will be assessed according to the type of product, the circumstances of the purchase and applicable legal rights.
If furniture is defective, damaged or incorrectly supplied, customers should contact us so that we can arrange an assessment and an appropriate repair, replacement or refund as required by law.

3. MJ Preloved — Secondhand Fashion & Accessories

MJ Preloved sells carefully selected secondhand products.

Products may show signs of previous use, which will be disclosed in product descriptions or photographs where reasonably identifiable.
Customers should review product descriptions, sizing and condition information before purchasing.
Returns for change of mind or incorrect size are subject to our stated arrangements and applicable statutory rights.
If an item is materially different from its description, incorrectly supplied or defective beyond any condition clearly disclosed and accepted, customers may contact us to request an appropriate remedy.

4. Reporting a Problem

Please contact MJ Collective as soon as reasonably possible if there is a problem with your order.

Include your order number, a description of the issue and photographs where helpful.

We will review the circumstances and advise you of the next steps. Where a return is required, we will communicate the arrangements and any applicable collection or courier costs.

5. Refunds

Approved refunds will be processed using an appropriate agreed payment method, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Refund processing times may depend on the payment provider or banking institution.

6. Your Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy removes or restricts statutory rights, including applicable rights relating to defective goods, distance transactions, cooling-off periods and lawful cancellations.
